The area present a unusual interest for both turistic and cultural way, beeing one of the oldest cities from Romania. The two areas are part of Targoviste district ( Aninoasa and Viforata).

A brief historic of the areas alog with their description:

Aninoasa, like other cities in Jiu Valley, developed with the growth of coal mining in the region. The first documented historical reference to Jiu Valley is a document, dated 1493, adding some Jiu Valley grazing areas (referred to by the names of Pterele, Malae, Rathond, Morysavar, Nyakmezy) to the Râu de Mori estate in the Hategului district The document was signed by the Hungarian King, Vladislav the second (1490-1516) and was addressed to Mohai Kendeffy. While the Aninoasa was first certified as a locality in 1913, the history of the area is much older. The area area was known for wood processing since Dacian and Roman times.

VIFORÎTA . This is an old surrounding too, dated from the bronze age discovered near the road that leads to Targivste. Here you can find the well-known Dealu Monastery. The Viforâta Monastery it's another old monastery situated in the vicinity of the city of Târgoviste. Rebuild several times during the centuries, the monastery doesn't have the old inscriptiones. It is known that it was build by Vlad voda The Sunken, at 1530, according to some authores like contentment for the victory at Viisoara that year. In the cemetery of the monastery it's situated the tomb of the general Matei Vladescu, hero of the independence war, made by Carol Storck, as well as that of the profesor Vasile Vizante, the defender of the revolted from Giurgiu in 1873.
